Beneficiary Review My responsibility as your financial professional is to ensure that all aspects of your financial life are being attended to. One area I monitor, which may seem insignificant at first glance, is your beneficiary designations. These designations are important because they dictate how your assets will be handled after you’re gone. Without proper, named beneficiaries, assets that you intended to give to loved ones may be subject to delays, expenses, and public scrutiny that sometimes accompanies going through probate. In addition, the assets may not go to the right person, in the right amount, at the right time, which means you run the risk of allowing creditors access to your money. While it’s likely that your designations are still accurate, we should regularly review them in case you have experienced, or soon will experience any life changes – such as a change in marital status, or the introductions of a new member to your family-which could affect your plans. Please contact me at 651-439-3070 if you would like to discuss or update your beneficiary designations. I look forward to hearing from you and working with you on your financial goals in the future, whatever changes life may bring.
